June has been a difficult month. I had an unplanned 2-week hiatus from this blog.
I’m really not happy about that, but I was still able to produce some posts. Here’s my most popular posts during the month of June (not all were written during the month).
I am thrilled and humbled that one of my food insecurity posts- especially it being the one about accepting help -made it to this month’s wrap up list. Food insecurity is still something that I think about every day. I still worry about whether or not my employees have enough to eat. Thankfully, a lot of them have friended me on Facebook, so I’m able to keep tabs on them. That sounds a lot weirder than I intended it to sound.
My summer bucket list is the next on the list. I have always had so much fun reading through everyone else’s bucket lists on Pinterest that it really was just a matter of time before I started making my own. I really don’t expect to accomplish everything on the list, but it’s nice to have on hand during the “I’m bored” days. I posted another one for the month of July for the overachievers. Lol. I really hope you all enjoy these as much as I enjoy making them.
Waterfalls are so pretty and so plentiful in my state. The kids had only really been to two of them. I found one within an hour’s drive of home and it’s a local swimming hole. The kids had so much fun and it was a nice, easy hike for everyone. Waterfalling was my third most popular post in June. We have plans to make a trip back there in August with a picnic basket and water shoes.
Hiking is seriously one of my favorite outdoor activities and apparently, you all agree because Auggie’s first hiking trip was number 2 on my top five. I can’t stress it enough: TAKE YOUR KIDS HIKING. It’s so much fun and can be so educational for you and your kids. It’s great exercise. It’s just great. I wish I had gone when I was a kid but at least my husband is a big fan of the activity and we have passed that gene on to our children.
Number one on my list for June was also top post on my list for May. You all just LOVE Mississippi Chicken and I can’t blame you, it is delish! Serve it as an open-faced sandwich with mashed potatoes and you have the best meal ever. The next time I make it, I’m going to have to take some pictures to add to that post.
Thank you so much for hanging in there with me for yet another month. You all are the real superstars of this blog. We have a vacation planned next month and I plan on working through it. Hopefully, July is kinder to us than June.
