Like Jo Dee Messina said, “my give a damn’s busted”. More like shattered. It only took a semester and a half of being a supervisor to do it too.

I woke up Friday morning at 7 am to a text message from my boss. Keep in mind that I was at work until 2:30 am. Obviously, I was still asleep at 7. He knows this because he makes up the schedule.

It was a fairly rude text asking about a temporary employee’s hours.

This is an employee that he didn’t even tell me about. She just showed up in uniform. This isn’t the first time he’s done this to me. This is the first time I responded without a filter: “Idk. You didn’t give me her schedule. Does she even have her schedule?”

It was crickets after that.

I regret nothing, but completely acknowledge that I broke my give a damn.
