66 dollars.

For our family, I was able to get a week’s worth of food for $66. Now this is not a normal trip for us. I planned a week’s worth of meals built around what meat I already had on hand.

*Whenever I can find meat for under 2 dollars a pound, I add to our stock in the freezer chest.

*An Aldi just opened in my town and all the other stores are dropping prices to compensate. 🙂

Working around a .99 per pound spiral ham from Christmas time, I was able to come up with a plan. I also have 4 new recipes that I will be trying.

Tonight was the ham, traditionally made, with mac and cheese and corn.

I will keep track of the cost of the new recipes and the family’s reaction to them. Frugal recipes with a great reaction will make it into a rotation.

How much does your family spend for groceries?
